GOD? Humor?
Mark 12: 28-32
28 One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, Of all the commandments, which is the most important?
29 The most important one, answered Jesus, is this: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.
30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’
31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.
32 Well said, teacher, the man replied. You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him.
Haha.. Right on “man”.
I’m sure Jesus was really worried about whether His Own Words were Truthful or not.
:o)

Mark 10:
46
They came to Jericho. And as he was leaving Jericho with his disciples and a sizable crowd, Bartimaeus, a blind man, the son of Timaeus, sat by the roadside begging.
47
On hearing that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, son of David, have pity on me.”
48
And many rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he kept calling out all the more, “Son of David, have pity on me.”
49
Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” So they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take courage; get up, he is calling you.”
50
He threw aside his cloak, sprang up, and came to Jesus.
51
Jesus said to him in reply, “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man replied to him, “Master, I want to see.”
52
Jesus told him, “Go your way; your faith has saved you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed him on the way.
He knew it was Jesus, he knew Jesus had the power to change absolutely anything of any magnitude in this world and so he stayed persistent, calling for Jesus. The blind man knew what he wanted from God. And most importantly the man knew it was only Jesus who could help him see. Part of seeing is knowing that you see.
I think this is one of Jesus’ Greatest Messages to us.
I get many many things from this, but it’s kind of like small children, they call and they call and they call because they know that their Mama can bring them what they need, including an understanding to this world. The child wants to know their mother’s always close by, and as they progress their mother teaches them to know what they want to ask when they ask.
Like our Mothers do, Jesus is very very much so- teaching us how to reason.
