Luke 1:
30 And the angel said to her: Fear not, Mary, for thou hast found grace with God.
31 Behold thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and shalt bring forth a son; and thou shalt call his name Jesus.
32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the most High; and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of David his father; and he shall reign in the house of Jacob for ever.
33 And of his kingdom there shall be no end.
38 And Mary said: Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it done to me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.
Today is Mary’s Big Day! Today is when Mary unselfishly tells God “FIAT!!” “YES!!” for the greater good of mankind, becoming- Theotokos, The Mother of God.
John Paul II talks about how upon a yes in Her heart, even before spoken to the angel of Her acceptance of this request from God, Mary in fact, and in every sense of the word, becomes Her Son Jesus’ very first Disciple.
And so, sure for society as a whole- what better model of Faith? But for a woman most most definitely!! Only through woman can new life be born!!
Like Mary of Nazareth, choose to change this world for the good- through the Pure Grace of God…
Today seems like a wonderful time to start!!
Help us to say “Yes!” to the Lord too, Mary.. like You- without reserve!
